NOTE FROM THE COMPOSER

In classical music, the second violin plays many crucial roles. They often enhance the first violin melodies by playing them in a lower pitch range. At other times, they execute countermelodies and beautiful harmonies, much like the violas.

Well, not today! Second to None is ALL about the second violins. Frequently in a supporting role, the seconds are now front and center, proudly leading the group through this playful romp. The other sections of the orchestra, now in a supporting role themselves, help develop the theme and provide a backdrop to this exciting experience!
