ETHAN ANDERSON
Ethan Anderson is a Colorado composer inspired by the raw emotion of the human experience. He is unique in that he does not play an instrument. Instead, Ethan relies entirely on hearing the music in his head, and then transcribing those ideas onto the page. This intuitive workflow has led him to score films, compose numerous works for the concert hall, and even have his orchestral works recorded by a professional orchestra in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Eight years of travel in a motorhome allowed Ethan to explore all fifty of the United States. Travel expanded his worldview and musical exposure as he met people and musicians of various ages, backgrounds, and ethnicities.
Ethan’s adventurous lifestyle surrounded him with the splendor of diverse ecosystems, from caverns and dunes to rainforests, volcanoes, and coastal life. Immersed in these environments, instrumentation became his language to describe how he connected with the natural world.
The themes of Ethan’s compositions emphasize stories of those he meets, natural wonders, and his own self-discoveries. The movement in his work parallels his values of facing personal barriers to embrace a whole-hearted, passionate life.
Ethan has been inspired by the film scores of John Williams, Alan Silvestri, Bear McCreary, Michael Giacchino, and more.
